How to unlock Funky Kong?
Got your eye on Funky Kong in Mario Kart Wii? Well, who doesn’t! It is an amazing character that would blow anyone’s mind. So, if you’re really interested in finding him in the game, let’s get it started.
About Funky Kong
Funky Kong is basically the coolest member of the Kong crew. He first popped up in Donkey Kong Country as the surfing, shades-wearing mechanic who helps you travel around the islands. Unlike the more serious Donkey Kong, Funky has this laid-back, extreme-sports energy that makes him an instant favorite. In Mario Kart Wii, he became an absolute legend because his speed stats are top-tier, making him the go-to choice for world records. He is usually seen with his signature bandana and surfboard, proving you can be incredibly fast while maintaining a totally relaxed, tropical vibe.
Steps to unlock Funky Kong
If you want to unlock this in-demand character in Mario Kart Wii, then these are the steps that may come in handy.
- Jump into the game and start by heading to the Single Player menu and choosing Time Trials.
- Keep in mind that you need to unlock 4 Expert Staff Ghosts. These are hidden, faster versions of the ghosts that come pre-loaded on every track. They are important to keep going here.
- Now, pick a track and race against the ghost that is already there.
- For this, timing is everything. To trigger an Expert Staff Ghost, you must be able to beat the standard ghost’s time by a specific number. Usually, if you beat them by about five seconds, you will see a message saying a fast staff ghost has been unlocked. This is what we need!
- You do not actually have to fight against the Expert Ghost once it appears. It is just for the sake of it appearing that it is all about.
- Repeat the idea and do this on four different tracks. You can try starting with easy ones like Luigi Circuit, Meadows, or Mario Circuit.
- With this, once you have unlocked the fourth one, you can go back to the title screen.
- Here, select your license again, and the game will give you the unlock notification. You’re there. Fun right?
It may look like a lot of effort and patience, which it also is, but it is truly worth it in the end when you actually see him appear. He is a character worth having, and you’ll figure it out yourself.
