Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max Launch— Tech company Huawei has launched a new premium flagship 5G smartphone Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max in its home market China. The company has designed this new device especially keeping in mind the mobile photography enthusiasts. The biggest attraction of the phone is the 200MP RYYB periscope telephoto camera provided in it. Additionally, a separate modular camera accessory has also been introduced for the Collector's Edition.

Powerful features of display, processor and battery

Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED display with 2848×1320 pixel resolution. This screen supports 1 to 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate. The company's patent Kunlun Glass has been used to protect the display. This display has 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and local peak brightness of 12,000 nits.

For performance, the device has been provided with Kirin 9050 Pro chipset, which is paired with up to 16GB of RAM. This phone works on HarmonyOS 7 operating system. It has a large 6,800mAh battery, which comes with 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support. For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, eSIM, StarLight E2.0 support and IP68/IP69 rating for dust and water protection.

200MP telephoto and modular 1-inch camera system

There is a triple camera setup on its rear panel for photography:

  • Primary camera: 50MP (1/1.28-inch sensor, RYYB technology, OIS, f/1.4 to f/4.0 variable aperture)
  • Ultrawide camera: 40MP sensor
  • Periscope telephoto: 200MP (1/1.28-inch sensor, RYYB technology, OIS, 4x optical zoom, 8x optical-quality zoom, 100x digital zoom)

The device has a 3rd Gen Red Maple primary-color sensor for accurate color tone. There is a 13MP autofocus ultrawide selfie camera on the front.

Apart from this, along with Collector's Edition the company has introduced Huawei Ruiying Z10 modular camera. This module has a 1-inch RYYB sensor, 10x continuous optical zoom, 24-240mm focal length range and f/2.0-f/4.5 variable aperture.

The prices of different storage variants in the Chinese market have been fixed as follows:

  • 16GB + 512GB: CNY 9,999 (range starting from around ₹1.42 lakh)
  • Collector’s Edition (16GB + 512GB): CNY 10,999
  • Collector’s Edition (16GB + 1TB): CNY 12,999
  • Ruiying Z10 Modular Camera: CNY 5,999
  • Complete Pro Max Camera Kit: CNY 19,499

This phone will be made available for sale in four color options – Rose Gold, Jade Green, Crystal White and Obsidian Black.
