Shubman becomes the third player to score 400 runs in seven consecutive seasons
With this stormy innings, Shubman Gill also made a special achievement in the history of IPL. He has become only the third batsman in the world to score 400 or more runs in seven consecutive IPL seasons. Earlier, only Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan could do this feat.
Suresh Raina was the first to create history
While playing for Chennai Super Kings in the initial phase of IPL, Suresh Raina scored more than 400 runs in seven consecutive seasons from 2008 to 2014. Raina was known for his consistency and aggressive batting and remained the sole owner of this achievement for a long time.
Shikhar Dhawan also showed amazing consistency
India’s experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan had also crossed the 400-run mark in IPL for seven consecutive seasons. Dhawan accomplished this feat between 2016 and 2022. During this period, he consistently performed brilliantly while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings.
Gill’s journey from Kolkata to Gujarat was wonderful
Shubman Gill started his IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders. He was a part of this franchise in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. After this, he has been playing for Gujarat Titans since 2022 and has consistently proved to be the most reliable batsman of the team.
Virat Kohli still has the biggest record
The record of scoring most runs in a single season of IPL is still in the name of Virat Kohli. While playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat created history by scoring 973 runs in 16 matches in IPL 2016.
Gill’s batting dominance
It is noteworthy that this achievement of Shubhman Gill is not limited to just statistics, but it also shows his consistency, technique and ability to perform on the big stage. It is not easy to score more than 400 runs for seven consecutive seasons, because in a tournament like IPL, the pressure and competition keeps increasing every year.
The way Gill has proved himself despite being a young player, it is a very positive sign for Indian cricket. There is a wonderful balance of restraint and aggression in his batting. If he plays in this rhythm, he can make many big records in the future. At present, he is among Sunia’s best batsmen. Apart from IPL, he has also played many big innings for the Indian team. It is also true that right-handed batsmen can also become the biggest batsmen of world cricket in the future, because such ability is visible in them at the moment.
