Muzaffarpur. A major incident has come to light during the welcome program of Health Minister Nishant Kumar in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. A gold chain worth about Rs 7 lakh mysteriously disappeared from the neck of JDU leader Rajesh Mandal amidst the crowd and scuffle that had gathered at Sakri Chowk to welcome the minister. After the incident, the victim leader has lodged a complaint in the Turkish police station and the police has started investigating the matter thoroughly.
According to the information, on the arrival of Health Minister Nishant Kumar to Muzaffarpur, a huge crowd of party workers and local leaders had gathered at Sakri Chowk. As soon as the minister's convoy stopped, people started rushing to welcome him. Meanwhile, JDU leader Rajesh Mandal, resident of Ladaura of Kudhani block, came forward to garland the minister. A huge scuffle broke out during the welcome. When Rajesh Mandal put his hand around his neck after the program was over, his chain was not there.
On the complaint of the victim leader, Turkish police station immediately swung into action. Türkiye Police Station Head cum Sub-Inspector Sentu Kumar confirmed the matter and said that a written complaint has been received. Police are now trying to find out whether someone took advantage of the crowd and pulled the chain or the chain broke and fell due to the scuffle. For this, the CCTV cameras installed around the venue and the video footage made during the VIP movement of the minister are being closely scrutinized.
The police are keeping a special eye on those people who were very close to Rajesh Mandal during the welcome ceremony. The victim leader has expressed apprehension that some anti-social elements active in the crowd may have carried out this incident. At present, the police is trying to identify the suspects on the basis of video footage so that the case can be solved as soon as possible.
