Husband ran away after taking personal loan, then asked for maintenance in court, know what strict comment the High Court made

A case has come to light in Allahabad High Court which has shocked everyone. A husband first deceived his wife and took a loan worth lakhs in her name, made away with her jewelery and car and later, crossing the limits of shamelessness, he reached the court demanding maintenance from the same wife. However, the protectors of the law caught wind of this trick and imposed a heavy fine on the husband.

Government job changed the direction of life after marriage This story begins with a wedding that took place in Etawah on 18 May 2019. At the time of marriage, both husband and wife were preparing for competitive examinations. Luck favored his wife and she got a government job in Allahabad High Court. On the other hand, the husband did not get a government job, after which he completed LLB and started practicing law. From here the relationship between the two started turning sour.

Greed, harassment and a big game of 25 lakhs As soon as there was a rift in the relationship, the round of allegations started. The husband claimed that his wife’s behavior had changed as soon as she got the job. At the same time, the ordeal narrated by the wife was hair-raising. According to the wife, the husband took two huge personal loans in her name on the pretext of purchasing land—one of Rs 11.5 lakh and the other of Rs 13.56 lakh. As soon as the loan was approved, the husband transferred all the money to his account and spent it on his debauchery.

Absconded with car and jewellery, then demanded ransom of Rs 10 lakh The oppression did not end here. The wife alleged that the husband dropped her at her maternal home and then fled from the house with her car, gold jewelery and valuables. When the wife asked for her car back, the husband demanded another Rs 10 lakh for returning the car. Fed up, the wife lodged an FIR in March 2024. The husband tried to get this FIR canceled, but the court did not give him relief.

When the husband came to ask for maintenance, the High Court showed him the mirror. A new twist in the case came when the husband, declaring himself unemployed, filed an application in the family court demanding maintenance from his wife. The lower court initially ordered the wife to pay Rs 5,000 per month and Rs 10,000 as case expenses. But when this matter reached Allahabad High Court on 23 April 2026, the truth came out. The High Court found that the husband hid his real earnings by giving a false affidavit and that he was financially exploiting the wife from the beginning.

Fine of Rs 15 lakh and strict rebuke from the court The Honorable High Court made a strict comment and said that the sacred relationship of marriage cannot become a means of economic or mental exploitation of anyone. The court considered the husband’s conduct to be an abuse of law and imposed a heavy fine of Rs 15 lakh on him. The court made it clear that a person who himself is involved in fraud and exploitation cannot expect help from the law.
