Hybrid SUV: Nissan unveils Terrano PHEV concept SUV, know technology and design

Hybrid SUV: Japanese automaker Nissan Motor has introduced its popular SUV Terrano Concept in a new and bold avatar. The company unveiled the Terrano PHEV concept at Auto China 2026, which reflects Nissan’s new strategy towards future electrified SUVs. It will have a great combination of powerful off-road design and hybrid technology.

New design: more powerful and off-road ready
The design of the new Terrano has been kept more muscular and boxy than before. It has rectangular LED headlights in the front and a big Nissan logo in the middle. Apart from this, the heavy bumper, bonnet scoop and extra lights on the fenders give it a proper off-road look. The side profile includes elements like a large roof rack, driving lamps and ladder. The wide black cladding on the wheel arches and the large all-terrain tires make it ready for rough terrain.

Rear look equally strong
At the rear of the new Nissan SUV, the full-size spare wheel is mounted on the tailgate, supported by a strong horizontal bar. Thin LED taillights and strong bumper make it more premium and rugged.

Engine and Performance
Although the company has not shared complete details, it is believed that it can get PHEV setup of electric motor with 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine. This setup can generate power of about 400hp and torque of 800Nm. There is a possibility of getting a 33kWh battery pack with it, which can give a range of more than 130 km in electric mode only. Also, the intelligent AWD system makes it more capable for off-roading.

The new Nissan Terrano PHEV Concept hints at an SUV that will offer a great combination of strong off-roading and electric efficiency. This model can further strengthen the company’s electric SUV lineup in the future.
