Mumbai: The second teaser of Aamir Khan Productions’ much-awaited film “Partition 1947” has been released. The nearly one-minute-long teaser has further increased audience excitement about the film. Set against the backdrop of India’s Partition, the film attempts to portray the pain of independence, the agony of separation, and the violence of that era on the big screen.
Powerful dialogue by Sunny Deol
The teaser begins with Aamir Khan’s serious voice, describing the tragedy that gripped the country after independence. The story’s atmosphere gradually unfolds, with Sunny Deol delivering a powerful dialogue, “People are scared, people are dying… I don’t want to die while I’m alive. I’m alive and I’ll prove it,” making the teaser even more emotional and serious.
Violence spread during Partition
The teaser further depicts the violence, arson, chaos, and exodus that followed Partition. Sunny Deol portrays a character who stands firm even in difficult circumstances. Brief glimpses of Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, and Ali Fazal also add to the excitement surrounding the story.
Another impactful scene in the teaser occurs when Sunny Deol’s character is asked, “Do you want to mess with me?” To which he replies, “I don’t intend to, but I don’t object either.” This dialogue clearly demonstrates that Sunny Deol is not afraid of anyone.
Starcast of the film
Along with Sunny Deol, the film also stars Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal, Karan Deol, and Abhimanyu Singh in pivotal roles. Judging by the film’s teaser, it’s clear that the story will be based on the struggles of ordinary people who faced difficult circumstances like fear, violence, and displacement during the 1947 Partition.

The film is directed by National Award-winning director Rajkumar Santoshi. Significantly, Santoshi and Sunny Deol have reunited after nearly three decades. The film’s music has been composed by A.R. Rahman, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. “Partition 1947” will be released in theaters on August 14, 2026.
