While addressing the public meeting, CM Subhendu Adhikari took on AJUP chief Humayun Kabir. He said in a stern tone, “I am not a weak Chief Minister like Mamata Banerjee, who can sit quietly.” CM warned that the job of public representatives is not to spread hatred in the society, but to serve the public. He made it clear that inflammatory and objectionable comments by any leader will no longer be tolerated. The government is fully prepared to take strict legal action against such elements, so that the peace of Bengal is maintained.
Appeasement politics will end
Before the Rejinagar assembly by-election, CM Shubhendu has made clear the agenda of development of Murshidabad. Attacking the opposition, he said that now the era of Hindu-Muslim politics done for vote bank in Bengal is over. The Chief Minister assured the public that the religious identity of any person will not become a hindrance in the development works. His emphasis was on the fact that the government is working for the welfare of every section of the society without any discrimination.
UCC and new security law will be implemented in Bengal
The biggest news of this tour was about UCC. The Chief Minister announced that the process of implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Bengal has been expedited. A high-level committee headed by retired Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai has also started its work. Apart from this, to crack down on criminals, he announced that the ‘Public Safety and Control of Anti-Social Activities’ Bill will be implemented in the entire state from coming Monday (July 13, 2026). Once approved by the Governor, this law will prove to be a deterrent for anti-social elements.
