I will continue to implement women’s reservation… PM Modi’s big announcement in Varanasi, also targeted at the opposition

Tezzbuzz Desk – Narendra Modi gave a big message regarding political empowerment of women and development schemes in the Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan held in Varanasi. During this, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth about Rs 6350 crore. Also, an important step was taken towards strengthening the connectivity of UP and Maharashtra by flagging off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains.

Our goal is to implement women’s reservation

Addressing the public meeting, PM Modi said that implementing reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and Assemblies is a big goal of his government. He said that Kashi is a land of divine powers and the presence of sisters and daughters here made the event even more sacred.

He said, “As the MP of Kashi and the Prime Minister of the country, I need the blessings of all you sisters. Our big goal is to implement reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and the Legislative Assembly.”

The Prime Minister said that women power is no longer limited to just participation, but is playing the role of leadership. From panchayats to college campuses, women are proving their capabilities.

PM Modi launched a scathing attack on Indian National Congress, Samajwadi Party, All India Trinamool Congress and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam regarding women’s reservation.

He said that parties immersed in politics of familyism and appeasement are afraid of women power. These parties do not want the daughters working at the grassroots level to reach the Parliament and Legislative Assemblies.

PM Modi said that after the formation of the new Parliament, the first task was to give 33 percent reservation to women. In 2023, the Nari Shakti Vandan Act was passed, but the opposition again tried to obstruct its full implementation.

Women welfare schemes were also mentioned

The Prime Minister said that his government has given top priority to women empowerment since 2014. He said that in the last years, more than 12 crore toilets were built, bank accounts of more than 30 crore women were opened, electricity was provided to 2.5 crore houses and tap water facility was provided to more than 12 crore houses.

He said that about 10 crore women have become financially strong through self-help groups and till now 3 crore women have become “Lakhpati Didi”.

Two Amrit Bharat trains flagged off

During the event, PM Modi flagged off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains from Banaras to Pune (Hadapsar) and Ayodhya to Mumbai (Lokmanya Tilak Terminal).

He said that these trains will further improve connectivity between Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Now it will become easier for people of Mumbai, Pune and entire Maharashtra to reach Ayodhya Dham and Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

Confluence of development and women power

The Prime Minister said that the mantra of the BJP-NDA government is, “Nagrik Devo Bhava”. Education, earning, medicine, irrigation and hearing, these are the priorities of the government.

He said that Nari Shakti Vandan is not just a law but is the basis of the resolve for a developed India. The development of the country is incomplete without the participation of women, therefore the government is committed to providing them leadership and opportunities at every level.
