The Indian Air Force released its 2026 recruitment notification for Group C civilian posts under Advertisement No. 01/2026.
The notification invites applications for 47 vacancies, including Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Hindi Typist, and Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver positions.
The application process begins on May 2, 2026. Candidates must submit completed forms offline by post to the respective Air Force Stations or Units. The last date for receipt of applications is 30 days from the publication date.
Vacancy distribution includes 37 posts for LDC, 10 for Hindi Typist, and 3 for Driver. The highest number of LDC vacancies is under HQ Maintenance Command with 13 positions, followed by Independent Units with 7 posts. Hindi Typist vacancies are spread across six commands, while driver posts are limited to three commands.
Eligibility criteria require a Class 12 qualification for LDC and Hindi Typist posts, along with typing skills of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi. Driver applicants must have passed matriculation, hold a valid licence for light and heavy vehicles, and possess at least two years of driving experience with knowledge of motor mechanisms.
Applicants must download the prescribed form from the Employment News issue dated May 2–8, 2026, and fill it in English or Hindi using block letters. Self‑attested copies of educational certificates, date of birth proof, caste certificate, and driving licence must be enclosed.
The selection process includes a written examination followed by skill or practical tests. LDC and Hindi Typist candidates will undergo typing assessments, while driver applicants will face driving tests. Selected candidates will be placed under Level‑2 of the 7th CPC pay matrix, with salaries ranging from Rs 19,900 to Rs 63,200.
