ICC Post Pregnency Guidelines: Becoming a mother will no longer put a brake on the career of women cricketers. The ICC on Monday issued post-pregnancy guidelines for women players to make it easier for women players to return to the field after pregnancy, in which a special 16-week plan was prepared for the safe and strong return of the players after the birth of the child.

ICC released guidelines

In fact, on Monday, June 22, the International Cricket Council has issued guidelines regarding the return of women players to the field after pregnancy. These guidelines are based on the ‘6R’ model with 6 stages. Which includes Ready, Review, Restore, Recondition, Return and Refine. Under this scheme, women players will be prepared to gradually return to cricket instead of entering the field directly. Initially, special attention will be given to physical recovery, mental health, medical tests and adjustment to the new life after becoming a mother.

Case managers will be appointed for every player

In its new guidelines, ICC has talked about appointing a special ‘case manager’ for the return of every player. Let us tell you, this responsibility will be handled by the doctor or physiotherapist, who will take complete care of the player from recovery till his return to the field.

Players will get permission to play only after investigation

In the first phase, the physical and mental condition of the players will be assessed. After this his strength training will be started gradually. After about 8 weeks, after consulting the doctor or physio, the player will be able to start running. Players will be allowed to play only after examining any problems related to muscles and pelvic floor.
