Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 created history, huge audience records broken including India-Pakistan match
Delhi: This has become the biggest figure so far in the opening week of the ICC women’s competition. Earlier, 34,680 spectators had reached the ground in the first three days of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup held last year.

India-Pakistan match created new history
The match played between India and Pakistan at the Edgbaston ground in Birmingham set a new record in terms of spectators. 18,814 spectators reached the stadium to watch this match, which is a new record for the highest attendance for any group stage match in ICC Women’s World Cup history.
Earlier, 15,935 spectators were present in the match between India and Pakistan in Dubai in the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup.
Tremendous craze on digital platforms in India
The tournament has so far reached 21.5 crore people on JioStar’s digital platform JioHotstar in India, while a total of 130 crore minutes of live watch time has been recorded.
The match between India and Pakistan alone reached 134 million viewers and achieved 1100 million minutes of watch time. This has become the largest digital reach ever for any league stage match in women’s cricket.
England’s opening match also made headlines
England and Sri Lanka were face to face in the opening match of the tournament. Before the match, a special presentation was organized for the spectators, which made the atmosphere memorable. After this, England won thanks to the brilliant performance of Danny Wyatt-Hodge.
This match was watched by 14,865 spectators sitting in the stadium, while during the telecast on Sky Sports, a peak viewership of 5.10 lakh and an average viewership of 3.93 lakh was recorded.
The glory of women’s cricket was also seen on social media
More than 753 million video views have been recorded on ICC’s digital platforms, which is almost 150 percent more than the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup.
