New Delhi . The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken disciplinary action against Pakistan cricket team’s spin bowling all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz for violating anti-doping rules. The player has been suspended after admitting a rule violation after being found to have a banned substance in a doping test. Along with this, records related to his individual performance during a specified period have also been officially declared invalid. This decision has once again clarified the ICC’s strict policy regarding doping rules in international cricket.

According to the information, Mohammad Nawaz’s dope test was done after an international match played in February 2026. The ICC reviewed the case after a banned substance was found in the investigation report. The player cooperated with the investigation process and admitted the violation of the rules and also clarified that the substance in question was consumed out of competition and was not intended to enhance sports performance. Keeping these facts in mind, the ICC took action in accordance with its anti-doping provisions.

As per ICC’s decision, Mohammad Nawaz was suspended for three months. However, the rules of the Council also provide that if the player successfully completes the prescribed rehabilitation and de-addiction program and follows all the conditions, then the period of punishment can be reduced. Under this arrangement, Nawaz is also likely to get relief. This process will depend entirely on the ICC’s review and satisfaction.

For this reason, the individual performances recorded by Mohammad Nawaz from the match played on 7 February 2026 till the temporary suspension came into effect have been removed from the official records.
