‘If Sayoni Ghosh can go then who can be trusted…’, what did Mahua Moitra say on TMC crisis?
Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has said that within a month of coming to power in West Bengal, the party has completely broken down. MPs and MLAs are leaving the party in large numbers. Mahua Moitra gave two main reasons for this. First, there is no limit to greed and betrayal. Second, the Bharatiya Janata Party has become dejected after not getting two-thirds majority in the Lok Sabha.
Mahua Moitra claimed in an interview with Indian Express that BJP wants to get 40-50 MPs not through elections but by breaking parties. He said that BJP is spreading rumors of fear of agencies, ban on business and anger against TMC. He has also said that he did not expect Sayoni Ghosh to take a rebellious tone out of fear.

Rebels cannot become ‘real TMC’
Mahua said that the rebel MPs and MLAs are calling themselves the real TMC, but the name of the party is linked to Mamata Banerjee. All the MPs were elected in the name of Mamata Banerjee. He said that according to the law, no group can be formed without two-thirds of the members. If the rebels want to go with BJP then they should resign and contest elections on BJP ticket.
What did Mahua say on Ritabrata incident?
Mahua Moitra said that Ritabrata Banerjee was first expelled by CPM, later TMC helped him. Now he is rebelling. He alleged that if the MLAs had problems with Abhishek Banerjee or Mamata Banerjee, then they should have left the party like Shubhendu Adhikari and joined BJP, rather than betraying them later by contesting elections on Mamata’s ticket.

‘Sayoni Ghosh’s stance surprised me the most’
Mahua Moitra said that she considered Sayoni Ghosh like her daughter or younger sister. He had given a big responsibility to Sayoni who was only 33 years old. Mahua said that Sayoni’s departure makes her very sad. He advised Sayoni to overcome fear, there is a good future ahead.
Mahua Moitra, MP, TMC:-
Some things have really hurt me. Sayoni is like my daughter and my sister. If someone else had gone, I wouldn’t have felt sad. But when I look at her, it seems that she is of my daughter’s age. I really loved him that way. I have really seen her grow as an opposition leader. My advice to you is, look, I know you’re scared, but unless we overcome fear, we can’t achieve anything.

Mahua Moitra said that Trinamool Congress may have some shortcomings, but it is the best platform to fight against fascist forces. She will stay with the party. He stressed that loyalty is very important. He admitted that action should have been taken against corrupt leaders earlier, but after lying to people’s faces it has become difficult to trust.
Is merger with Congress possible?
Mahua Moitra said that the merger of TMC and Congress would be too early. Both the parties will not fight against each other in the 2029 elections, but will fight together on one seat each.
