Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra recently recalled the difficult period of 2021 in a podcast when he was arrested in a pornography case. He stated that his time in jail was the most difficult period of his life, and that the support of his wife, Shilpa Shetty, proved to be his greatest strength. Raj says that the legal battle in this case is still ongoing, and he is confident that the truth will one day come to light.
What happened after you came out of jail?
Raj Kundra revealed that returning to normal life after his release from prison was difficult. During this time, social media and media reports rife with speculation about his relationship with Shilpa Shetty. He said that the divorce rumors that surfaced during that time left him mentally distressed, but Shilpa always encouraged him. According to him, the actress reassured him not to pay attention to these rumors and to be there for him no matter what.

During the podcast, Raj also shared that his time in prison led to a spiritual inclination. He explained that there was a place in the prison where people of different religions performed their respective religious prayers and worship. Initially, he avoided these activities, but later, at the urging of a priest, he began participating in aarti.
Raj said that he often shared his troubles in front of a picture of Sai Baba kept there. He further explained that during his final days in jail, he performed aarti with all his heart and felt that Sai Baba was with him. The next day, he was granted bail, which he described as an emotional experience.

He also mentioned the prison’s Ganeshotsav, saying that during that time, inmates were allowed to participate in cultural activities. According to him, he was released from jail the day after Ganesh Visarjan. Raj Kundra concluded the conversation by stating that he has been fighting a legal battle in this case for the past four years. He said that he was framed as part of a conspiracy and that he was subjected to a media trial. However, he added that if he has not done anything wrong, he is confident that the truth will come out.
