Rishikesh: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 117th Executive Committee meeting of All India Mayors’ Council held at Hotel Natraj, Rishikesh on Wednesday. On this special occasion, the Chief Minister gave a big gift to the public by inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of three big schemes worth Rs 29.78 crore, giving a new pace to the development of Devbhoomi. This includes the inauguration of one scheme worth Rs 23.15 crore and the foundation stone of two schemes worth Rs 6.63 crore. Welcoming the mayors from every corner of the country, CM Dhami said that mayors are the first citizens of their city and are the face of public expectations. Your decisions today decide the future of future generations. He further said that if the soul of our country resides in the villages, then the dreams and future of our citizens take shape in the cities only.

This year, more than 30 lakh devotees have visited in the first 45 days of the Yatra, which is a new record in itself. The priority of the government is to ensure the safety of passengers and their smooth journey. CM said that earlier only 500 people used to come to Adi Kailash, now around 1000 people are coming every day. Apart from this, more than 24 lakh people have also paid obeisance at Maa Purnagiri temple. If we look at the figures of the last four years, more than 23 crore tourists have visited Uttarakhand.

Talking about urban development, the Chief Minister said that the cities of the country are being transformed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ has given birth to a new culture of cleanliness in the country, while a model of modern development is being prepared through ‘Smart City Mission’. ‘Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana’ has provided permanent roof to the poor and ‘Svanidhi Yojana’ has worked to make the street vendors self-reliant. In Uttarakhand too, all these schemes are being implemented rapidly, due to which every citizen is getting direct benefits. Solid waste management and sanitation systems are being greatly strengthened in every city.

These unique works were done for the first time in Uttarakhand, the poor got great relief

Giving information about the new initiatives of the state government, CM Dhami said that for the first time in the state, ‘Urban Health and Wellness Centres’ have been opened in municipal bodies to provide better and affordable health services to the poor families of urban areas. ‘Shelter Scheme’ has been started to provide shelter to the destitute cattle, while work is going on on ‘Animal Birth Control Scheme’ to stop the increasing population of stray dogs in the cities. He stressed that our cities present the real picture of India to the world. If cities are clean, safe and organized, then no one can stop India from becoming a developed and prosperous nation.

Resolve to make Uttarakhand developed by 2047

Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, present in this program, also expressed his views. He said that on the lines of ‘Developed India 2047’, we are continuously moving forward to fulfill the resolve of ‘Developed Uttarakhand’. Rishikesh got these modern gifts, CM laid the foundation stone

Starting a flurry of development works, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for construction of EV charging stations at 10 different places in Rishikesh Municipal Corporation on PPP mode at a cost of Rs 1.80 crore. Along with this, to overcome the water shortage, the foundation of rain water harvesting works was laid at 12 places in Rishikesh at a cost of Rs 4.83 crore. Not only this, he also inaugurated the construction work of compost plant and sanitary landfill site built at Lal Pani Beat under the Solid Waste Management Scheme of Rishikesh Municipal Corporation at a huge cost of Rs 23.15 crore. In this grand program, Cabinet Minister Ram Singh Kaida, MLA Premchandra Aggarwal, Mayor Shambhu Paswan, Mrs. Renu Bala Gupta, Ashutosh and mayors of many big cities of the country and senior leaders were present.
