IMD issued alert of torrential rain, big warning from weather department in Delhi, UP, Bihar and Himachal
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a serious warning for a large part of the country, describing the next 24 to 48 hours as extremely sensitive. The weather has suddenly changed amidst the scorching heat and heat wave that has been scorching North India for the last several days. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the activity of a powerful Western Disturbance and monsoon winds, there is a possibility of severe cyclonic storm, hailstorm and torrential rains in North-West and Central India. Due to this sudden change, a huge drop of 6 to 8 degrees Celsius is being recorded in the maximum temperature, which will provide relief to the people from the humid heat, but due to local storms, there is a need to be extremely cautious about safety. There is a possibility of devastation in Western UP with a speed of 100 km/hour. The forecast of the Meteorological Department for Uttar Pradesh is quite scary. Thunderstorm alert has been issued in 56 districts of the state, which include major cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj and Varanasi. According to IMD, destructive storm winds can blow at a speed of 80 to 100 kilometers per hour in western Uttar Pradesh today. During this period, there is a strong possibility of heavy rain and hailstorm in many districts along with thunderstorms, which can cause damage to crops and mud houses. Storm will blow at the speed of 70 and hail will fall in Delhi-NCR. The weather pattern has completely changed in the country’s capital Delhi and surrounding areas (NCR). Due to strong winds and showers, Delhi’s air has improved to ‘satisfactory’ category. The Meteorological Department has issued yellow and orange alerts for Delhi, Chandigarh and Haryana, saying that today there can be a storm with a speed of 60 to 70 km per hour. There is a possibility of heavy rain and lightning along with thunder and lightning in many areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. A warning has been issued that strong winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour and hailstorm may cause landslides and affect road traffic in the mountains.
