IMO Warning: 20 thousand sailors stranded in the Persian Gulf, there is danger of attacks and mines on ships, rescue will start now
The situation has become very bad in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Here about 20,000 sailors are stranded in 1,600 to 2,000 ships. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has warned the world about this crisis and described it as an unprecedented crisis.
🚨: Donald Trump’s big statement, calls NATO a big problem regarding control over Greenland.
This whole matter started on 28 February 2026, when America and Israel bombed Iran and then Iran also retaliated. Due to this fighting, danger on sea routes has increased. Iran has greatly restricted maritime access and mines have been laid in the waters, leaving no safe passage for ships.
The IMO has confirmed that there have been 19 to 29 attacks on maritime assets so far. At least 10 to 11 people died and 7 to 8 people were injured in these attacks. The stranded ships include bulk carriers, cargo ships, oil and gas tankers and six tourist cruise ships. Some of these ships have also been captured and kept in custody.
IMO Secretary General Arsenio Dominguez has appealed to all parties to exercise restraint and reduce tensions. He said that a plan has been made to safely evacuate the ships, but for this it is very important to have a comprehensive ceasefire or agreement. There was a shortage of food, water and fuel on the ships, for which security assurances were sought.
By the end of June 2026, IMO has obtained some assurances together with Iran, Oman and the US. Now with the cooperation of these countries, the process of safely evacuating more than 11,000 sailors will be started.
