Tezzbuzz Desk- India Alliance is protesting demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Now a proposal has come forward to bring a symbolic impeachment against him by organizing a mock parliament in Ramlila Maidan. Rahul Gandhi has agreed in principle to this proposal, although the consensus of all the opposition parties has not been reached yet.
The opposition is considering a change in its strategy regarding the demand for Special Intensive Review (SIR) and resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Under the proposal, there is a plan to organize a symbolic parliament at Ramlila Maidan and bring a proposal to remove the CEC. This idea has been put forward by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, KC Venugopal and Left leaders.
Rahul Gandhi has suggested that the party which is strong in the state should take the lead on this issue and other allies should support it. Rahul Gandhi alleges that votes have been stolen in the country and people's voting rights have been snatched away.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi held a tea party with leaders of India Alliance, civil society groups and members of student organizations at his Sunehri Bagh residence in Delhi. During this, the further strategy of the protests was discussed.
Rahul Gandhi said that all the parties of the alliance stand together with the same objective of restoring democracy. He also talked about challenging the decision of not getting permission to protest at Jantar Mantar. Rahul Gandhi said that the fight will continue till the last breath to restore the democratic process. Now it has to be seen whether all the parties of the India alliance can agree on the proposal of mock parliament or not.
