Imran Khan: First the claim, then the reversal… How much truth is there in the claim of Imran Khan's death? PTI made this big demand due to the sensational revelations of Pakistani journalist

Imran Khan Death Rumors: Speculations have once again intensified regarding the health and well-being of former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan. Unverified reports and social media rumors claiming the death of 73-year-old Imran Khan, lodged in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, have created a political uproar in Pakistan.

These rumors got further fueled when US-based Pakistani journalist Wajahat Saeed Khan made a big claim on his YouTube channel, but after this the journalist himself retracted his statement.

What did the journalist claim?

Pakistani journalist Wajahat Saeed Khan quoted three senior military officers posted at the Pakistan Army Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi as saying that they fear that Imran Khan is no longer among us. Wajahat said that their sources, who are three senior officers of the Pakistani Army, have said that they fear that former Prime Minister Imran Khan has died in jail and Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir is hiding his death from the entire country.

However, the journalist himself admitted that this information is unverified and no official has seen it with his own eyes, but has expressed doubts on the basis of hearsay.

PTI's allegations and refusal to meet the family

PTI leaders and Imran Khan's sisters have alleged that for the last few days they are not being allowed to meet the former Prime Minister in jail. The party has demanded that Imran Khan should be examined by independent doctors and his family and lawyers should be allowed to meet him immediately.

Earlier, in November 2025 also, there were rumors of Imran Khan's death in jail. However, on December 2, 2025, his sister, Uzma Khanum, visited him in Adiala jail and confirmed that he was physically fine, but was kept in solitary confinement.

'Islamabad Long March' and claim of 2 million people

Amid growing uncertainty over Imran Khan's health, PTI has started a campaign against Shahbaz Sharif government and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and PTI leader Sohail Afridi has warned that the youth of Pakistan are angry and more than 20 lakh people are ready to take to the streets. PTI has announced a big 'long march' till Islamabad on September 27, 2026.

Letter from US lawmakers to Secretary of State Marco Rubio

International pressure is also increasing on the Pakistani government. Thirteen US Congressmen from both parties have written a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, appealing to him to raise the issue of the jail conditions of Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi with Islamabad. This letter mentions the warnings of the UN Special Rapporteur, who has expressed concern about Imran's long solitary confinement and health.
