Arwal. A horrific road accident took place today on National Highway 139 (NH-139) under Kaler police station area of Arwal district of Bihar. Here a speeding Thar car badly crushed a nine-year-old girl standing on the roadside, due to which she died on the spot. Two other people have also been injured in this accident. There is an atmosphere of immense tension in the area after this tragic accident.

According to the information received, the deceased girl has been identified as nine-year-old Ragini Kumari. She was standing on the side of the national highway at the time of the incident, when an uncontrolled and extremely fast Thar vehicle coming from Patna crushed her and hit two other people standing near her. The collision was so strong that Ragini died on the spot. At the same time, the other two injured were immediately taken to the nearest hospital with the help of local people, where their condition is very critical. After the accident, the driver fled from the spot along with the vehicle.
Angry villagers blocked the road
Angered by this accident, the local villagers placed the girl's body on NH-139 and completely blocked the road. Due to road blockage, traffic came to a complete halt on both sides of the highway. The protesting villagers were demanding immediate adequate compensation for the victim's family and the early arrest of the guilty Thar driver.

As soon as information about this incident was received, the local police station reached the spot. There the officials tried to pacify the angry villagers. After much persuasion and written assurance of getting government compensation from the disaster relief fund, the villagers removed the jam from the road, after which traffic on the highway resumed. The police have taken the dead body into their custody and sent it to the district hospital for post-mortem. Officials say that the CCTV footage installed on the highway is being scrutinized to identify the Thar vehicle that caused the accident and its driver and the accused will be arrested soon.
