In Banswara, the drain swallowed the lives of two innocent girls, silence of mourning spread in the village.
Rajasthan News: Two innocent girls died due to drowning in Nadia village of Banswara district on Tuesday. Both the girls had gone to take bath in the drain, one and a half kilometer away from the house, at around 1 pm. When he did not return till evening, his family members and villagers started searching for him.
Dead bodies were taken out with great effort
The family feared drowning and informed the police at around 9:30 pm. After continuous efforts of about four hours, the police and villagers took out the bodies of both the girls from the drain at 1 o’clock in the night.
An atmosphere of mourning in the entire village
The deceased have been identified as 9-year-old Bhooli (class 5) and 8-year-old Ronika (class 4). There is an atmosphere of mourning in the entire village after the accident. The bodies were handed over to the relatives after post-mortem. Police said that the darkness of the night and deep water was challenging for the rescue operation. He further said that the investigation is ongoing and there is a need to increase awareness in the village regarding security.
Family members worried when he did not return
ASI Ravi Thapa, in-charge of Padla outpost, said that both the girls were residents of the same locality of Nadia village. At around 1 pm, she had gone to take bath in a drain, one and a half kilometers away from her house. When he did not return home till 6 pm, the family got worried and started searching.
Rescue operation with police team
The family members started searching with the help of the villagers. People told that the girls were last seen near the pit. Due to no clue and fear of drowning, information was given to Abapura police station at around 9:30 pm. As soon as the information was received, ASI Ravi Thapa reached the spot with the police team and started the rescue operation.
