Barabanki. A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Haidergarh town which comes under Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh. Here, a one and a half year old innocent child died on the spot due to a wrong injection by a quack doctor. At the same time, the condition of three other brothers and sisters of that deceased child is very serious. He has been admitted to the district hospital for treatment. In this matter, the administration took immediate action and closed the illegal clinic. Also, the accused fake doctor has been taken into custody.

Mourning spread within minutes of treatment

According to the information received, the children of Kallu Hashmi, a resident of Lohia locality, had rashes and heat rashes on their bodies due to the extreme heat. On Sunday, June 28, his wife had reached a private clinic in Thakurdwara Ward for treatment along with their four children, including eight-year-old Tamanna, four-year-old Sajid and one-and-a-half-year-old twins Hasnain and Maria. Family members say that as soon as they reached there, the clinic operator gave injections to all four children one by one. As soon as the injection was given, foam started coming out of the children’s mouth. Later, his condition started deteriorating and within a few minutes, one and a half year old Hasnain died on the spot.

Police caught the accused

After the death of the innocent child, there was an outcry at the clinic and the local people also started creating ruckus. As soon as the information was received, the local police and Sub-Divisional Magistrate ‘Rajesh Vishwakarma’ reached the spot with the force. As soon as they reached there, the police took control of the situation and arrested the accused doctor ‘Jagmohan Gupta’ who was trying to flee from the spot.

Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr. ‘Lav Kumar’, who arrived with the Health Department team, said that in the initial investigation, the accused was not found to have any valid document or degree related to medical practice. Police have sent the body of the deceased child for post-mortem and an FIR has been registered against the accused.

Treatment of serious children continues

The remaining three children, Tamanna, Sajid and Maria, were taken to Haidergarh Community Health Center in critical condition. After treatment there, seeing his critical condition, the doctors referred him to Barabanki District Hospital. At present all three children are under the strict supervision of doctors. This incident has once again raised serious questions on the network of illegal quacks spread in rural and regional areas.
