Several military personnel as well as civilians were killed in the attack on Larak Island. Several others were injured.
Note that Larak Island is located near the main Iranian port of Bandar Abbas and right in the middle of the Strait of Hormuz. This sea route is very important to the world, as before the war about 20 percent of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas was transported through it. According to reports, Iran is currently inspecting tankers passing through the island and charging up to $20 million, or about Tk 19 crore, from ships to cross the strait.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump said the US military had cleared the Strait of Hormuz from mines last week. He said all mines in international waters have been removed or deactivated. At the same time, Trump warned that America will take action if someone tries to lay sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Any ship or boat will be destroyed. According to a US official, the Iranian military was monitoring the activities of the IRGC. The attack continued after that.
