Gopeshwar: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given a big gift of development schemes to Chamoli district. The Chief Minister, who arrived at the ‘Jan-Jan ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan ke Dwar’ program organized at the police ground in Gopeshwar on Wednesday, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 63 development projects costing more than ₹ 155 crore. While addressing the public in this program organized under Seva Pakhwada, CM Dhami clearly said that the main aim of his government is not to make people go to offices, but to solve their problems immediately by taking the administration directly to the doorsteps of the people.
In fact, through this campaign, the Dhami government is trying to completely eliminate the distance between the government and the people. The Chief Minister also announced from the stage that more than 6 lakh people from entire Uttarakhand have participated in the first phase of this public awareness and solution campaign. The big thing is that out of these, the problems of more than 60 thousand citizens were resolved on the spot. On the occasion of completion of five years of the government, the CM, while fixing his accountability, said that the administration is now completely dedicated towards the people.
25 thousand women became ‘Lakhpati Didi’ in Chamoli
Referring to the women empowerment taking place in Chamoli district, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami proudly presented the figures. He said that more than 42 thousand women of the district have been linked to Self Help Groups (SHGs). Of these, more than 25 thousand women are today providing financial strength to the society and their families by becoming ‘Lakhpati Didi’. This figure is enough to show that a new wind of employment and self-reliance is now blowing in the mountains. To promote livelihood at the local level, 872 new homestays have been created in the district under the Deendayal Homestay Scheme, which are not only promoting tourism but also providing employment to the youth at their homes.
Picture of reverse migration and changing economy
Drawing a blueprint of the strengthening economy of the state, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolution that ‘the third decade of the 21st century will be the decade of Uttarakhand’, now seems to be coming true on the ground. Historic work has been done on the investment front in Uttarakhand. A total of investment agreements (MoUs) worth Rs 3.75 lakh crore were signed in the state, out of which work on projects worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore has already started on the ground. Its direct effect has been that the state’s GST collection and per capita income have increased rapidly. In fact, its most pleasant result is visible in the form of ‘reverse migration’, where the youth of the hills are now leaving the cities and returning to their villages and trying their hands in the field of startup and tourism.
Strict stance on Badrinath temple theft case
During the program, the Chief Minister also spoke on the sensitive issue of theft in Badrinath temple. He warned bluntly that the Badrinath temple theft case is a very serious matter and the government will not tolerate any kind of politics on this. CM Dhami said, “Such strictest action will be taken against the culprits which will set an example. The criminals will not be spared at any cost.” Along with this, he also talked about the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project and the master plan of the border areas and told how the lives of 76 serious patients of Chamoli have been saved since 2024 through the Heli Ambulance service.
In the end, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami appealed to the local people of Chamoli to actively participate in these public welfare camps being organized by the government. He assured that the real state religion of the Dhami government is to extend the benefits of development to the people standing at the last end of the society.
