A new chapter of Indian culture was written in France. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Swami Narayan Temple in Paris. Attending the event virtually on Sunday, the Prime Minister said that India-France relations have reached a new peak. Modi mentioned that the inauguration of this temple in Paris is an important chapter in the good relations between the two countries.
Attending the event virtually, the Prime Minister said, “The establishment of the Swami Narayan temple in Paris is a symbol of cooperation and solidarity between the two countries. It will last for ages. The friendship between the two countries is not only limited to diplomatic and strategic cooperation, but has also reached a new milestone in the cultural field.” He further said, “In everything from technology, AI, defense to space and climate – India and France are moving forward together. The relationship between the two countries stands on a long-standing cultural and politically strong foundation. Indian soldiers once sacrificed themselves on French soil. French scholars, on the other hand, played an important role in popularizing Sanskrit. Ramakrishna's writings on Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda brought the two cultures together. Also Sri Aurobindo of Puducherry from Paris.” The spiritual journey of 'The Mother' in the ashram has inspired many Indian and French saints, which has served as a bridge between the people of the two countries.”
The prime minister said, “The establishment of the Swami Narayan temple in Paris is a symbol of cooperation and solidarity between the two countries. It will last for ages.”
The Prime Minister further said, “This temple is a shining example of 'Made in India', 'Built in France'. It is also a fusion of modern engineering of the two countries.” In Modi's words, “This new temple in Paris is a repository of Indian culture. Its values will benefit the people of the whole of Europe. This temple will enrich the diversity of France. At the same time, it will strengthen the cultural ties between the two countries. I will definitely visit this temple when I have time.”
It should be noted that this huge Swami Narayan temple has been built in the Bussy-Saint-Georges area near Paris, the capital of France. Although it is completely built in Indian architecture, it is a joint effort of India and France in its construction. A large part of the stone used for the temple was brought to India. It is there that the artists make fine crafts in stone. Later the stone was taken to France and the structure of the temple was made. Mahanta Swami Maharaj established life in the idol of the temple.
