IND vs AFG: Historic performance of Gurnoor and Harsh in the debut match, made a special record by taking 3-3 wickets.
Ind Vs Afg 1st ODI: India made a great start to the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan by winning the first match played in Dharamsala by 7 wickets. Affected by rain, this match was played of 25-25 overs. The Indian team gave a debut opportunity to two new players Gurnoor Brar and Harsh Dubey in this match, and both of them created history by taking 3-3 wickets in their very first international match.
Gurnoor and Harsh proved to be the heroes of this match. Both of them have become only the third pair to take 3 or more wickets together in the debut match for a full member team in ODI cricket.
Gurnoor and Harsh did wonders in the debut match
It is very rare in international cricket that two players get a chance to debut in a match simultaneously and both of them are bowlers. Whereas Gurnoor Brar and Harsh Dubey took 3-3 wickets in their debut match. Earlier in the year 1971, in the month of January, Ashley Mallett and Keith Stackpole got a chance to debut for Australia in the match against England in which both of them took 3-3 wickets.

Apart from this, in the year 1997, Colin Croft and Joel Garner made their debut for West Indies in the ODI match against Pakistan and took 3 wickets each. If we look at full members and associate countries together, this has been seen only for the 7th time in ODI.

Impressed everyone with his brilliant bowling.
Tall fast bowler Gurnoor Brar impressed everyone with his brilliant bowling in his very first over. He got the wicket of Ibrahim Zadran on the fifth ball of the match and bowled consistently at speeds of over 140 kmph. Harsh Dubey also played an important role in the team’s victory by taking three important wickets with accurate line-length.

The performance of these two young bowlers is being considered a very positive sign for the future for India, especially in view of the preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
