Oman News: Boat filled with 14 Indians drowns in sea, US Navy arrives for rescue

Oman Boat Accident News: A major accident has occurred in the sea near Ras Al Hadd coast of Oman. It is being told that a traditional dhow (boat) carrying 14 Indian citizens suddenly got into trouble and sank. As soon as information about the incident was received, the US Navy, Indian Navy and other maritime agencies started a joint rescue operation. All passengers are expected to be safe.

According to the information, this incident occurred on the morning of June 14, about 80 nautical miles east of Ras Al Hadd coast. As soon as information was received about a boat in distress in the sea, the US Navy’s P-8 maritime surveillance aircraft reached the spot. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the aircraft immediately dropped a life raft into the sea, so that the people on board the boat could get safe shelter.

Boat full of Indians drowned in sea

The US Navy confirmed during its surveillance that all people on board the boat had been transferred to life rafts. After this, help was also sought from nearby ships. St Kitts and Nevis flagged merchant ship ‘MV Jabal Ali 9’ changed its course and joined the relief operation. This ship was going from Sohar towards Mumbai at that time.

14 Indians are expected to be safe

Information about the incident has also been given to the Indian Navy and concerned authorities. All the agencies are together engaged in rescue work. According to officials, all 14 Indians are expected to be safe, although final official confirmation is awaited.
