IND vs AFG : Team India's squad has been announced for the 3-match T20 series between India and Afghanistan. Today i.e. on September 1 (Tuesday), the squad has been announced by BCCI by posting it on Facebook. India is going to play a 3-match T20 series from September 13 to September 17. The Indian selectors have announced a 15-member squad for this series, in which Sanju Samson has returned after being dropped.
Sanju Samson returns to Team India
Let us tell you that Sanju Samson had made an important contribution in making Team India the champion by performing brilliantly in the 2026 T20 World Cup. After this, he was dropped after flopping on the tour of Ireland and England. He was not a part of the Zimbabwe series. After this, he has once again made a comeback in the series against Afghanistan. Now there are three opening batsmen in the team, Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Sanju Samson.

This player is out of Team India
Some players in the squad have returned even after recovery from injury. Prabhsimran Singh has been dropped from this series, who was a part of the team on the Zimbabwe tour in the last series. Along with him, Mayank Yadav, Prince Yadav, Ashok Sharma and Yash Thakur have also been left out of the squad. All of them got a chance in India's last T20 series against Zimbabwe.
These 3 spin bowlers got a chance
Hardik Pandya is also out of the series against Afghanistan. He is recovering from injury and is not match fit yet. All-rounders Akshar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi have been included in the squad against Afghanistan, who will handle the responsibility of the spin department along with Varun Chakraborty. Chakraborty has also returned to the team after injury.

There is danger in playing these 4 players
While announcing the squad of Team India, BCCI and selectors have also given information about the fitness clearance of 4 players. The fitness clearance of these players is not yet clear. In such a situation, these 4 players are in danger of playing even after being selected in the squad. Because if these players are not able to achieve match fitness then they will not be able to play. These players include the names of Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar, who are returning to the team after injury.
