IND vs AFG Test: Team India in a strong position thanks to the centuries of Gill and Rahul, scored 368 runs for 3 wickets on the first day

IND vs AFG Test: The first day’s play of the Test match being played between India and Afghanistan at Mullanpur Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh has ended. India elected to bat first after winning the toss and by the end of the game had scored 368 runs in 85 overs at the loss of 3 wickets. On the first day of this match, Indian captain Shubman Gill and vice-captain KL Rahul scored century innings. Whereas Sai Sudarshan and Rishabh Pant scored half-centuries.

India got a shock in the first session

Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul came to open the innings for the Indian cricket team. Both of them added 41 runs for the first wicket. Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the pavilion after scoring 24 runs for India in the 12th over. Mohammad Salim got him caught out by Officer Jazai. India scored 96 runs at the loss of 1 wicket in 25 overs in the first session. At the end of the first session, Rahul remained unbeaten on 37 and Sai Sudarshan on 36.

Rahul-Sudarshan’s fifty came in the second session

For the Indian team, SAI Sudarshan and KL Rahul completed their respective half-centuries in the second session. Sai played an innings of 81 runs in 104 balls with 13 fours. India suffered its second setback in his form in the second session. Ziaur Rahman got him caught out by Rahmanullah Gurbaz. By the end of the second session, India scored 209 runs for 2 wickets in 50 overs. At the end of this session, KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 81 and Shubman Gill on 20.

Rahul and Gill scored centuries in the third session

For India, in the third session, KL Rahul first scored the 12th century of his Test career. He played an inning of 100 runs in 165 balls with 11 fours. After him, captain Shubman Gill played an unbeaten inning of 103 runs with 11 fours and 1 six in 143 balls till the end of the day’s play. Rishabh Pant is supporting him by scoring 50 runs in 70 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. By the end of the first day’s play, the Indian cricket team has reached 368 runs after losing 3 wickets in 85 overs.

The Indian cricket team ruled the first day’s play. Two players of the team scored centuries while two players scored half-centuries. Whereas Afghanistan’s bowlers were seen yearning to take wickets. Now it is going to be very interesting to see which team will dominate on the second day.
