Friends, in today’s modern era, Instagram is the most popular platform for watching reels, recently Meta has made some updates on Instagram, in which many flaws have been found, news of account hacking is continuously coming to the fore. The issue, which is said to have allowed hackers to misuse Meta AI-powered support features to gain unauthorized access to Instagram accounts, has caused widespread concern among users. Let us know how to stay safe-
How hackers allegedly misused Meta AI
Cyber criminals adopted a very clever method involving Meta AI and Instagram’s account recovery system to take over user accounts.
The reported method worked like this:
The first thing hackers did was to use a VPN to make it appear as if they were logging in from the same location as the account owner.
After this they would go to the login page of Instagram and select the option of “Forgot Password”.
This took them to a page with Meta AI-powered support features.
Using specially crafted prompts, the hackers allegedly convinced the AI chatbot to add a new email address to the target account.
As soon as the email address was added, Instagram would send a verification code to that email.
After this, hackers used that verification code to take over the account.
What did Meta say about this security related problem?
After news of this security flaw surfaced, Meta said that it has fixed the flaw and secured the affected accounts. However, the company did not reveal how many users were affected by this problem.
Meta assured users that it has taken necessary steps to prevent further abuse of this flaw.

Many users have claimed that:
Their Instagram accounts remained hacked even after Meta released the fix.
