Ind vs AFG Test Day 3: Manav Suthar dominates on debut, creates history by taking 6 wickets, danger of defeat looms over Afghanistan
New Delhi: The Indian team has maintained its dominance in the only test match being played between India and Afghanistan in Mullanpur. In this match, Manav Suthar has impressed everyone by taking 6 wickets in his debut match. Indian bowlers restricted Afghanistan’s first innings to just 152 runs, in response to which India took a huge lead of 412 runs. After this India forced Afghanistan to play follow on. By lunch break on the third day, Afghanistan had scored 18 runs in their second innings.
Manav Suthar opened ‘Panja’ on debut
Young spinner Manav Suthar, who was playing his first international test match for the Indian team, proved to be the real hero of this match. The Afghan batsmen looked completely helpless in front of his powerful balls. Manav Suthar bowled brilliantly in his debut match and took 6 wickets and registered a record in his name. Apart from him, Prasidh Krishna took 3 wickets, while Washington Sundar got 1 wicket. Earlier, India had declared its first innings after scoring 564 runs at the loss of 8 wickets.
Rahmat Shah created history
In Afghanistan’s first innings, middle-order batsman Rahmat Shah batted brilliantly and completed his half-century and scored 60 runs. This was his first half-century and he created history. He has become the first batsman for Afghanistan to score a half-century in Test cricket against India. The dominance of the Indian team is clearly evident from the fact that out of the 7 sessions held in the first three days of the match, India has won one-sidedly in 6. Whereas only one session has been a draw.
The first over after lunch was handed over to Manav Suthar.
The second innings has started just after lunch and the Indian captain has handed over the first over to Manav Suthar. Manav Suthar gave India the biggest success by bowling Rahmat Shah. As soon as he was out, Afghanistan’s lower order collapsed like a pack of cards and the entire team was all out for 152 runs.
