Manav Suthar created history

Young spin all-rounder Manav Suthar, who made his Test debut against Afghanistan, has created history by taking a wicket in his very first over. This 23-year-old spin bowler dismissed Abdul Malik on the fourth ball of his very first over. With this wicket, Manav has registered his name in the history of Indian cricket. He has now become the first Indian bowler in the last 25 years to take a wicket in the very first over on Test debut. Before him, Tinu Yohannan had achieved this feat in the first over of his Test debut against England in 2001.

Became the 8th Indian to do so

Apart from this, Manav Suthar has become only the 8th Indian bowler to take a wicket in the very first over on Test debut. Apart from Suthar, names of bowlers like Montu Banerjee, Manohar Hardikar, Waman Kumar, Chetan Sharma, WV Raman and Nilesh Kulkarni are included in this list. All these bowlers have taken wickets in the very first over of their Test debut.

Excellent bowling against Afghanistan

Manav Suthar bowled brilliantly in the only test match against Afghanistan. During Afghanistan’s innings, he gave only 10 runs in his first 10 overs and took 2 wickets. During this period he also bowled 5 maiden overs. By the end of the second day’s play, Manav bowled 15.5 overs and took 3 wickets for 21 runs.
