India vs England: England defeated India by 4 wickets in the second ODI match played at Sophia Gardens ground in Cardiff and leveled the three-match ODI series 1-1. Chasing the target of 234 runs, the England team won by losing 6 wickets in 44.2 overs. The hero of this victory was Joe Root, who took the team out of difficult situations by playing an innings of 99 runs. He could have completed his century but Gus Atkinson was in a hurry to end the match and won the match by hitting a four in the 45th over.

Before this, the Indian team had a good start, but it could not convert it into a big score. The entire Indian team was reduced to 233 runs in 44 overs. Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer tried to control the innings by scoring half-centuries, while Rohit Sharma and Shubman did not play big innings despite getting a good start. At one time India appeared to be in a strong position, but due to continuous fall of wickets the team failed to score big. In the end Bumrah also scored 19 runs.

Joe Root single-handedly turned the match around

Chasing the target of 234 runs, England lost early wickets, but Joe Root displayed great patience and experience. He rotated the strike well and took full advantage of the bad balls. Will Jacques also scored useful runs, while Gus Atkinson (19) supported him well in the end. Both the batsmen took the team to victory without any pressure.

Now the series will be decided in the third ODI

The defeat in the second ODI exposed the weaknesses of Indian batting. Despite getting a good start, the team could not score big, due to which it had to suffer defeat. On the other hand, England performed brilliantly in both the bowling and batting departments. Now the series is tied at 1-1 and the third ODI will be a do or die match for both the teams. Whoever wins the third ODI will win the ODI series.
