After winning the toss, Indian captain Shubman Gill said, 'Batting first, yes. It looks to be a much tougher and better pitch than Galle's. Galle's pitch was also very good, but I think as the game progressed, it slowed down a bit and the ball started turning. We are expecting something similar to happen here too, but I think this pitch will be very good for batting for the first two-three days.
Regarding the playing eleven, Gill said, 'Unfortunately Kuldeep had an infection, so he is not playing and Saransh is making his debut for India. (How would you rate the win in Galle) I would probably give it a nine, because there is always room for improvement. I think we played a pretty good match. Obviously, there were things we could have done better, but this is Test cricket. It's very difficult to play a perfect game because you play for five days, and it's difficult to be so dominant and play well consistently in Tests. But overall, I think we had a pretty good match.
