IND vs SL: Big action by ICC in Colombo Test… After Jaiswal and Fernando, hunter also started on Prabhat Jayasuriya…

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken major action regarding indiscipline during the second Test match being played between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo. In this match, Sri Lankan spinner Prabhat Jayasuriya has been found guilty of violating the ICC Code of Conduct. Jayasuriya has become the third player to be punished under ICC rules in this Test match. Before him, action has been taken against Indian opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sri Lankan fast bowler Asita Fernando.

The incident occurred on the second day of the match when Prabhat Jayasuriya was batting. After being dismissed by Indian spinner Manav Suthar on the last ball of the day, Jayasuriya lost his temper and hit his bat hard on the ground. Match referee Andy Pycroft deemed this a breach of ICC Article 2.2 (Misuse of cricket equipment). Jayasuriya admitted his crime, after which 1 demerit point has been added to his account. This is his first demerit point in the last 24 months.

Earlier, action was taken against Yashasvi Jaiswal and Asita Fernando for fighting with each other on the field on the first day of the match. There was a heated argument and tension on the field between the two players, after which the ICC fined both of them 25 percent of the match fee. ICC's use of Hunter on three players in the same Test match has become a topic of much discussion.
