- Fours, sixes rain from Shefali-Smriti
- Victory was sealed in the 9th overs itself
- Chipo and Josephine saved Zimbabwe's innings
IND Vs ZIM : In the second match of the three-match T20I series held at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur, India sealed the series with a 9-wicket win. Batting first, Zimbabwe challenged India to 103 for 8.
While chasing these runs, the first order, which failed miserably in the previous match, made up for it this year and won the second match with 11 overs to spare, and also won the series. Shefali Verma and captain Smriti Mandhana, who came to open this match, literally rained fours and sixes.
Aggressive start from India
Shefali Verma and captain Smriti Mandhana started hitting fours and sixes while chasing the runs given by Zimbabwe. By the fourth over, Shefali had reached the boundary twice. Given the aggressiveness of the duo, the fielders came under pressure along with the Zimbabwean bowlers.
Meanwhile, in the fifth over itself, India had reached the half-century of runs. Shefali scored 55 runs with 6 fours and 4 sixes, while Smriti supported her with an unbeaten 47 with 6 fours and 2 sixes.
India thus won the match with 67 balls to spare. Now the next match in the series will be held on Tuesday, October 20 at the same stadium in Raipur.

Chipo and Josephine saved the innings
Zimbabwe took an aggressive stance from the start in the first match. They won the toss in the second match and elected to bat first with the intention of doing something similar, but Kellys Ndhlovu, who scored 42 runs in the previous match, could not even crack the pumpkin in this match. Nandani Sharma hit a hat-trick in the fourth over and gave Zimbabwe a shock.
After two overs of that, Deepti Sharma showed her way to the pavilion as well, with Beloved Biza (7) caught by Harmanpreet Kourkarvi. Also, Sharon Meyers, who scored 43 runs in the first match, could contribute only 9 runs in this match. She became a victim of Kranti Goud. In between, Chipo Mugri Tiripano and captain Josephine Como (27 not out) put together a 45-run partnership for the fourth wicket to revive the team's innings.
It was because of this partnership that Zimbabwe could reach a hundred runs. Meanwhile, Niki Prasad dismissed Richa Ghoshkarvi Chipo behind the wicket. Chipo scored 34 runs with 5 fours. Nysa Gwanzuru, who came after, was tricked by Niki and did not even allow her to open her account. From India, Nicky took 2 wickets for 7 runs in 2 overs.
