IND-W Vs PAK-W Match Report: The Indian women’s cricket team has started its journey in the T20 World Cup 2026 with a resounding victory against Pakistan. India defeated Pakistan by 64 runs. The half-century innings of opener Smriti Mandhana, the explosive innings of wicket-keeper batsman Richa Ghosh as well as the lethal bowling of Deepti Sharma and Shri Charani contributed to the victory of the Indian team.

The Indian team won the toss and decided to bat first. Shefali Verma, who came to start the Indian innings, gave a good start to the team by hitting a six on the very first ball, but she could not take her innings forward and was out after scoring 6 runs on the fifth ball of the same over. Mandhana scored a brilliant half century

Smriti Mandhana and captain Harmanpreet Kaur took charge of the Indian innings and made a partnership of 91 runs for the third wicket, taking the team’s score to 109 runs. Mandhana’s wicket fell on this score. Mandhana scored an excellent half-century. She was out after scoring 68 runs on 44 balls. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 36 runs in 35 balls.

At the end of the innings, wicketkeeper batsman Richa Ghosh scored 34 runs in 17 balls with the help of 1 six and 5 fours, taking the Indian innings to 170 at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. For Pakistan, Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana took 2-2 wickets, while Tasmiya Rubab and Ramin Shamim took 1-1 wicket.

Pakistan team was reduced to 106 runs

To achieve the target of 171 runs, except opener Muniba Ali, no other batsman from Pakistan team could face the Indian bowlers. Muniba scored 41 runs on 35 balls. The entire Pakistan team was reduced to 106 runs in 17 overs.
