India sets 4x100m Mixed Relay National Record at World Athletics Relays 2026

India’s 4x100m mixed relay team set a new national record at the World Athletics Relays 2026 in Gaborone, clocking 41.35 seconds in Heat 2.

The quartet of Ragul Kumar, Nithya Gandhe, Animesh Kujur and Sneha SS improved on the previous national record of 42.30 seconds set earlier in March.

Despite the record-breaking effort, India finished sixth in the heat and missed out on qualification for the World Championships.

The performance continues India’s rapid rise in the mixed relay, with the national mark improving significantly from 43.44 seconds in 2025 to 41.35 seconds within a year.

4x400m relay team also finishes sixth

In the 4x400m mixed relay, India endured a tough outing, finishing sixth in Heat 1 with a timing of 3:19.40. The team ended last in their heat, with Canada and Belgium topping the standings.
