Threat to bomb Greater Noida DM office
There was panic in the administration and police department on Monday after an e-mail threat was received to blow up the District Magistrate (DM) office in Surajpur, Greater Noida. As soon as the information was received, Surajpur police station, bomb disposal squad, dog squad, fire brigade and anti-sabotage (AS) checking team reached the spot and started a thorough investigation of the entire complex.
Police conducted an intensive search operation in and around the DM office. No suspicious or explosive material has been recovered so far during the investigation. According to the police, at present the situation is completely normal and peace is maintained in the office premises.
Police said that after receiving the threatening e-mail, the cyber team has also been activated. Technical investigation is being done as to who sent the e-mail and from where. Considering the seriousness of the matter, security arrangements have been increased and the entire incident is being continuously monitored.
The police have appealed to the people not to pay heed to any kind of rumour. The administration is investigating the matter with full caution and at present no threat has been confirmed.
