India-Bahrain Ties: Relations between India and Bahrain will become stronger, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar holds big meetings

India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar visited Bahrain on 6 July 2026. The main objective of this visit was to further improve relations between the two countries and discuss regional issues. The Foreign Minister met senior leaders of Bahrain and agreed on many important things.

Dr. S. Jaishankar met Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. Apart from this, he got a chance to meet King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. In these meetings, discussions were held to increase cooperation between the two countries.

Talks were held on these issues

  • Collaboration: There was talk on increasing work in areas like politics, economy, investment and development.
  • Agreement: Emphasis was laid on better implementation of old agreements and MoUs so that both the countries get more benefits.
  • Security: Both the countries shared their views regarding regional stability and security.

Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar thanked the Government of Bahrain. He said that the government of Bahrain is making continuous efforts for the safety and well-being of the Indian community living there. This thing is very important for the migrants living there.

Regional disputes and support

Bahrain’s leaders thanked India for its support in the matter of recent violations by Iran. He praised India’s contribution to regional security and maintaining peace in the world. Both countries acknowledged that their relations are based on mutual respect and trust which has existed for decades.
