India became champion in Under-18 Hockey Asia Cup, defeated Japan, CM Mohan Yadav congratulated the players
The Indian hockey team has brought pride to the country by achieving a spectacular victory in the Men’s Under-18 Hockey Asia Cup 2026 held in Kakamigahara, Japan on Saturday. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has congratulated the Indian team on this historic victory and congratulated it for a bright future.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said, “Madhya Pradesh has also made an important contribution in this achievement. The selection of six players from the Men’s Hockey Academy in the Indian team and becoming a part of the gold medal winning team is a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh.”

He said, “The brilliant hat-trick of Ashish Tani Purti and the goal of captain Ketan Kushwaha have played a very inspiring and decisive role in this big victory of the Indian hockey team.”

India won bronze medal in Women’s U-18 Hockey Asia Cup
Women’s team has won bronze medal in Under-18 Hockey Asia Cup. The Chief Minister has also congratulated the women players. Nausheen Naaz, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, was also a part of the team and became the top scorer of the tournament with 12 goals. Congratulating both the teams, the Chief Minister said, “We are proud that from Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy, there are 6 players in the men’s team and 4 in the women’s team. Sports are being promoted with commitment in the state. World-class and modern training system and facilities are available to the players.”
