The controversy over Special Intensive Revision of Voter List (SIR) and recent developments related to the functioning of the Election Commission are likely to be discussed in the meeting. Opposition parties can also decide their stand regarding further action against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and taking joint steps in Parliament.

However, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav will not be present in the meeting. A senior leader from SP will reach Delhi and present the party's side. Akhilesh Yadav has referred to the already decided Lucknow programme. On September 30, he is going to attend the party's farmers conference. Congress has also said that Akhilesh's program was already scheduled.
Uddhav Thackeray will join online, many big faces will be present
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray can attend the meeting through video conferencing. Apart from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, many leaders including Trinamool Congress' Mamata Banerjee, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and CPI (M) General Secretary MA Baby are expected to attend this meeting of INDIA Block.
The meeting is taking place at a time when there have been reports of disagreement within the Election Commission over decisions regarding SIR. The opposition is continuously raising questions regarding this issue. At the same time, the Election Commission has explained the process as per legal provisions.

Discussion on motion against Gyanesh Kumar possible in Parliament
An important issue of the meeting may be related to the demand for removal of CEC Gyanesh Kumar. Opposition parties may consider the possibility of bringing a removal motion against him in Parliament and moving forward jointly on this issue. According to some reports, there may also be talks in both the Houses on garnering support from opposition parties for the steps related to the proposal.
The controversy over SIR has now become a political issue even outside Parliament. The activities of different organizations and opposition parties have intensified regarding the proposed demonstrations against Gyanesh Kumar on October 2. It has also come to light that Shiv Sena (UBT) is supporting this movement.
Allies will face each other after about three and a half months
The last major meeting of the INDIA block was held on June 8, which was attended by leaders of several major opposition parties. No leaders of Aam Aadmi Party and DMK had attended the last meeting, so it remains to be seen whether both the parties will come this time or will maintain distance. Now, in this meeting to be held after a long gap, the focus is likely to be on the next joint strategy of the opposition on the dispute related to electoral voter list, SIR and Election Commission.

Despite the absence of Akhilesh Yadav, SP will send its representative to the meeting. In such a situation, in the Delhi meeting, there will be a special focus on the coordination between the opposition parties regarding the proposal against SIR as well as CEC and the further movements.
