India’s broadband base has crossed another milestone. According to data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), broadband subscribers rose from 1,094.48 million at the end of July to 1,101.21 million at the end of August, a monthly growth of 0.61%.
That means the country added about 6.73 million broadband subscribers in just one month and crossed the 1.1 billion mark for the first time during August.
The number of active wireless (mobile) subscribers, measured on the date of peak Visitor Location Register (VLR), stood at 1,207.59 million in August.
