India didn’t allow Pakistan to settle down in their third match of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026. Fatima Sana won the toss and elected to bat first, a decision that backfired from the start as the Women in Green were unable to challenge the rival bowlers. India needed just 18.1 overs to dismiss Pakistan for 55 runs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 5.
Muneeba Ali (13) and Shawaal Zulfiqar (14) were the only two batters who reached the double-digit mark in the much-awaited clash. Harmanpreet Kaur rotated her bowlers to keep Pakistan on the back foot and got wickets at regular intervals.
Muneeba was the first one to depart when all-rounder Shafali Verma bowled her. It was Shree Charani’s show thereafter as she claimed the scalps of Gull Feroza (0), Zulfiqar and Sadaf Shamas (3). Sadaf Shamas (3) was undone by Prema Rawat. Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana failed to open her account after facing seven balls and became Deepti Sharma’s first scalp of the night.
Eyman Fatima (5) was run out, with Pakistan 45 for 7 in 13.1 overs.
Umm-e-Hani (6) and Nashra Sandhu (0) were the eighth and ninth wickets to fall, with Rawat completing her three wickets.
Tuba Hassan (9) was the last wicket to fall, with Richa Ghosh stumping her off Deepti’s delivery.
All the Indian bowlers were spot on, with Charani and Rawat adding three wickets to their bowling figures. Deepti picked up two wickets while Shafali took 1 scalp.
India have already qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament, having defeated Thailand and Hong Kong in their first two matches. Pakistan secured a win over Thailand in their opening game and still need another victory to stand a chance of making it to the knockout stage.
