India's 'Bhaukaal' in GDP growth continues: India GDP growth rate remained at 7.8%, even Iran war and Trump's tariffs could not stop our pace.

India GDP Growth Rate: A big news has come out regarding the development of India. India's 'Bhaukaal' in GDP growth continues. India's GDP growth rate in the first quarter was 7.8%. Even Iran war and Trump's tariffs could not stop the pace of India's development. Despite all the global tensions, it is running at high speed. The special thing is that these figures are much better than the estimates of the Reserve Bank of India (7%). Banking/finance, real estate, IT and other business services sectors gained more than 10%. Due to this, inflation did not affect GDP growth.

According to the report of the Ministry of Statistics and Programs (MoSPI), if we look at India GDP Growth Data, the economy has registered a strong growth of 7.8%. According to the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, India's real GDP growth in the first quarter of FY2026-27 has been recorded at 7.8%. Whereas in the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27, nominal GDP has increased by 10.3%.

The special thing is that this figure of India GDP growth has come in such a challenging global environment, when the crisis from supply chain to oil and gas was at its peak. It means clearly that be it the fear of tariffs or other geopolitical tensions, rising energy prices or uncertainty regarding global trade, the country's GDP growth remained fast in every environment. According to the report, despite the challenges related to inflation, the demand of customers in the market has not decreased. There is also good news on the Gross Value Added (GVA) front. Real GVA growth in the first quarter was 8.2%, which was 7.1% last year. At the same time, nominal GVA growth has been recorded at 11.5%. Nominal GDP has also increased from 8.1% to 10.3%.

Agriculture and mining disappointed

However, some basic sectors have also disappointed in the report. The growth rate of the agriculture sector has declined to 3.6% in the first quarter from 4.4% last year. The condition of mining sector was the worst. Last year there was a growth of 12.4% in mining, but this time it has shrunk by 2.4%.

Old figures also updated
The ministry has also updated the annual figures for financial years 2022- 23, 2023- 24 and 2024- 25. For this, new data and figures obtained from different government sources have been used. Apart from this, the GDP data for the first quarter of financial year 2022-23 to the fourth quarter of 2025-26 has also been updated. New data has also been included in the provisional GDP figures for the financial year 2025-26.

  • Third quarter (October-December): 6.5%
  • Fourth quarter (January-March 2027): 6.8%
