Tezzbuzz Desk- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put forward a big vision towards giving a new identity to India's space sector at the global level. On the occasion of the third National Space Day, PM Modi met the founders and CEOs of 20 space startups of the country at Seva Tirtha. During this, he said that India should create such an environment that talents from all over the world are attracted to the country to make a career in the space sector.
The Prime Minister said that when a person thinks of doing something big in the space sector, India's name should come first in his mind. He said that India can become such a 'magnet' which attracts talent from all over the world. This global talent can become the country's biggest strength in future.
India's three biggest strengths
PM Modi mentioned three major strengths of India. He said that the country's space technology is globally competitive in terms of cost. Apart from this, there is no dearth of talented youth in India and the risk taking ability of Indians is also very strong. He said that on the basis of these qualities, India can rapidly strengthen its place in the global space industry.
Startups confident of policy stability
Describing policy stability as important for private companies working in the space sector, the Prime Minister said that the government will not change its decisions and rules again and again. He told the startups that those taking risks will get the confidence of the government. If an entrepreneur makes a mistake unknowingly, he will not be left alone.
PM Modi said that the government wants to create such a trusting environment in which young entrepreneurs can do new experiments and take big risks without fear.
Scientists returning to India from abroad
Startups present in the meeting said that after the rapid expansion of India's private space sector, many Indian scientists and professionals working abroad are now showing interest in returning back to the country. Experts who have worked in companies in America and Europe want to join Indian space startups.
Representatives of 20 companies including Skyroot Aerospace, Agnikul Cosmos, Pixel, Dhruva Space, GalaxyEye and Bellatrix Aerospace attended the meeting. These companies are working in areas like launch vehicle, satellite, earth observation, space robotics and space-based technology. PM Modi aims to make India a major hub of innovation as well as global space talent.
