India Rain Alert: There will be a big crisis! On the monsoon in the month of June itself…; A rise in the temperature of the Pacific Ocean
A steady increase in the temperature of the Pacific Ocean
There is a possibility of ‘El Nino’ condition in the month of June itself
Estimates of its impact on the monsoon season
Sunayana Sonawane/Pune: The temperature of the equatorial Pacific Ocean is continuously increasing, and this year, the possibility of an ‘El Nino’ condition has been expressed in the month of June itself. According to the latest forecast released by the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) of the American Meteorological Organization (NOA), the current neutral (India Rain) condition may soon convert to ‘El Nino’. So this year Monsoon Weather experts have predicted that it will affect the season.
According to the CPC report, the sea surface temperature of the Pacific Ocean has increased for the fifth consecutive month. There is an 82 percent chance of ‘El Nino’ becoming active in June, and it is highly likely that this situation will continue. It has been mentioned that the probability of ‘El Nino’ continuing from December 2026 to February 2027 has reached 96 percent.
There will be relief from the heat; Chance of rain with gale in the state
The activation of ‘El Nino’ at the time of arrival of Monsoon is considered a matter of concern for Asian countries including India. Due to the effect of ‘El Nino’, a low pressure condition is formed over the Pacific Ocean. As a result, the speed of monsoon winds over the Indian subcontinent decreases and the chances of rainfall increase. Also due to the atmospheric vapor being pulled towards the east, there may be less than average rainfall during the monsoon season.
This year’s ‘El Nino’ could be the strongest in history, the European weather model had predicted. However, the CPC’s latest estimates have expressed some skepticism about its intensity. During November-December the ocean temperature may be 1.5 to 2 degrees Celsius above average. Weak in June-July, moderate in August-September, strong or very strong ‘El Nino’ is predicted after October.

According to meteorologists, the effect of ‘El Nino’ is not limited to rains only. In 2027, heat waves are likely to increase in intensity, with global temperatures reaching record highs and adversely affecting marine biodiversity. El Nino may pose further challenges to Asian countries, which are already facing economic stress due to the warlike situation in West Asia.
