Third-placed Sri Lanka had defeated this team by 155 runs in the year 2024. Zimbabwe won against Afghanistan by 154 runs in 2018, while Scotland won the match by 150 runs in 2015. The England team has defeated Afghanistan by 150 runs in the year 2019.

India scored 402 runs

The Indian team, which came to bat first in Lucknow, was all out for 402 runs in 49.5 overs. This team had lost the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal (4) on the score of 9. After this, Rohit Sharma strengthened the team by making a partnership of 87 runs for the second wicket with captain Shubman Gill.

Rohit was out after scoring 48 runs in 39 balls with 8 boundaries, after which Gill added 224 runs in 140 balls with Ishan Kishan for the third wicket. Ishan was out after scoring 125 runs in 79 balls with 7 sixes and 14 fours, while Gill scored 154 runs in 110 balls with 2 sixes and 22 fours. Nangelia Kharoti took maximum 4 wickets from the visiting team. Rashid Khan took 3 wickets.
