India has taken a very tough stance on the statement of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari regarding the notice of removal of Ganj Shaheeda Masjid, a Muslim religious place in Varanasi. Actually, this whole controversy started when Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari had expressed concern over the alleged demolition of historical Muslim religious places in India and the threats he was receiving. According to Pakistani media reports, Zardari, while referring to Varanasi’s mosque ‘Ganj Shaheeda’, had demanded India to stop such action immediately.

India’s befitting reply
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal hit back at Zardari’s statement and called it extremely ridiculous. He said that the whole world knows what Pakistan’s human rights record has been. Pakistan has a long history where minorities of other religions have been consistently targeted and discriminated against.
Randhir Jaiswal further said, ‘Looking at the reality of our country, this statement of the Pakistani President is nothing but a well-planned political conspiracy, which is inspired by Pakistan’s national policies of hatred and fundamentalism.’
What is the whole matter?
This entire controversy came to light when the railway administration pasted a notice on the wall of this mosque near the main entrance of Kashi Railway Station. In this notice issued under the Remove Encroachment campaign, it was allegedly asked to vacate the premises by June 20.
